Identifying the Right Jewelry for a Manufacturer to Offer a Large US Retailer
Customer: Jewelry Manufacturer
The Objective
A leading jewelry retailer and a jewelry manufacturer were developing a promotional plan for their November-December holiday offerings in the gold and diamond jewelry categories. The two considered a number of lines; however, they wanted to reduce prior years’ misalignment with consumer demand and improve revenue by identifying the right jewelry offering.
The Solution
Tenoris created a report that compares the suggested offerings with current sales trends and a broad range of retailers’ inventory active in the same price ranges. The retailer and manufacturer were then able to identify the most successful designs and optimize the jewelry lines to meet real consumer demand.
We also offered a number of additional SKUs that fit the retailer’s and manufacturer’s overall strategy, which they did not consider.
The Results
Tenoris pinpointed the lines of greatest demand by consumers, isolated the lines in waning demand, and suggested a number of changes to improve desirability. The project resulted in a double-digit growth in sales that greatly reduced the number of unsold items, a win-win outcome for both the retailer and manufacturer. The manufacturer now incorporates this modeling process and planning into its collaboration with its major retail partners in a range of categories.
